DIRECTOR – RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT & CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST
Invited to join the company by owners in 2003 to help them build a sustainable development department and the next generation platform. Managed, directed and lead software product development team of five; customer services team of five; data migration services and IT teams. Managed internal and outsourced development efforts across several continents. Managed the Microsoft Gold Partnership and technical pre-sales activity. Managed vendor relationships including data centers, hardware vendors and integration partnerships. Span of control includes influence in Marketing, Sales, and Strategic planning.

* Designed and implemented the next generation solution using Microsoft.NET technologies, receiving rave reviews by leading global corporations and leading law firms as the most innovative solution available in this market. ACTING VICE PRESIDENT R&D

Led product Integration efforts, managed relationships with leading vendors including Microsoft, PTC, SolidWorks and Dessault. Led organization through staff growth from five to 125.

* Released the first version of new system which included five different integrations (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, PTC Pro-Engineer, CATIA), improving integration development time to less than 6 months; previously, company had failed for 2 years to achieve successful release.

* Designed and lead development of highly configurable integration adaptor mechanism toolkit for integration with Microsoft Office, Autodesk – AutoCAD, PTC Pro-Engineer and others applications. Designed and lead the initial implementation of a prototype of company’s flagship Enterprise PLM product.

* Realized productivity gains of up to 200% by training teams in agile development methods, pair programming, peer reviews and frequent integration.

* Led implementation of automated testing for Windows and Web applications as part of a streamlined fully automated release process that allowed daily builds with a very high level of stability.

* With a five person developer team, combined multiple technologies (Microsoft.NET, Java Serve lets, C++ Business Objects, Apache/IIS Web Servers, Multiple Database support including Oracle, SQL Server, Informix, DB2, MFC and VB Clients and more) to create an application that utilized Secure Web-Services, XML over HTTP, configurable back-end data aggregation adaptors with No-Touch deployed configurable User interfaces across Enterprise or over WAN, bringing the first version to well ahead of competitors. This was visionary at its time way before web-services were a common phrase and xml over http. The accomplishment was recognized in a Gartner review.

* Designed and led the implementation of a client application framework providing usability, maintainability, testability and security by design.

* Balancing business needs and market requirement used innovative design technique to redesign configurable Legacy Adaptor to permit development of web capable architecture needed to support multi-site capabilities over an old legacy system saving time to market and capital.

* Assembled cross-functional development team to implement all layers required for a highly scalable Service Oriented Architecture platform several years before the term "SOA" was coined.
